In the year 1948, the acclaimed artist and sculptor Fathy Mahmoud introduced the first ceramic factory in Egypt, which later became evolved into the Egyptian German Porcelain Company in 1986. Also, being one of Egypt's first porcelain factories, the plant saw massive, impressive expansions becoming the biggest porcelain tableware factory in the MEA region.
